Welcome Cyclist to the Village House
During the summer of 2023, an extensive hiking and biking trail network was completed in the municipality of Pyhäjoki. The trails have been in trial use for a year, but the final routes will be completed by the upcoming summer.
The village association has participated in the "Cycling to the Moon" project, which aims to make bicycle tourism a new tourism industry for rural areas. The project develops the conditions for bicycle tourism and creates a new circular route suitable for bike touring between Liminka, Oulainen, Pyhäjoki, Raahe, and back to Liminka. The Village House has been awarded the national "Welcome Cyclist" certificate and is one of the stops on the route map available on Bikeland.fi.
In the backyard of the Village House, there is an always-open WC and a water point. You will also find basic bike maintenance supplies, such as a bike pump, patching materials, bike cleaning tools, chain oil, and more.
If needed, you can lock your bike to the bars under the shelter.
For charging your phone or bike battery, you will find electrical outlets on the wall of the house or at the outlets available through Matkaparkki.com.
If you have a tent with you, you are free to set it up in the yard of the Village House. However, if you want to stay indoors or plan to stay longer, please contact the Village House staff.
The Village House also offers accommodation through Matkaparkki.com. You can reserve a spot for yourself via the Matkaparkki.com app, settle in, and go for a bike ride in the nearby areas or swim at the beach north of Kuusiniemi Bridge.
