For travelers, there are 5 electric charging stations available. Three are located in the front parking area and two are on the grassy area under the Kotikuusi tree, across from the parking lot. You can also set up a tent in the yard.
At the back of the Village House, there is an always-open WCwith a water point.
The backyard also features campfire area in the tipi tent, which is freely available for visitors. Dry wood can be found under the eaves of a nearby storage shed.
A swimming spot is located on the north side of Kuusiniemi Bridge (Kuusiniementie) about 500 meters from the Village House. The swimming area has a dock, making it easy to start kayaking or paddleboarding. Next to the dock, there is a rowboat available for visitors. The swimming hut has life jackets of various sizes. The area also includes an Eco-toilet and a woodshed. Maintenance is provided by the village association.
The Village House is an excellent starting point for bike rides. The riverbank is lined with well-maintained gravel paths, allowing you to either head to the church village via the Northern bank paths or take a bike ride to Helaakoski along the Uimussuvannontie. The latter 12 km route will feature an Art Trail during the summer of 2023, where locals will create "self-made art" along the route.
You can also bike to Oravisjärvi where there is a shelter and a campfire spot. The lake is a great place to quiet down and listen to the silence while observing local birds. The lake is stocked with fish, so it's not recommended for fishing. A sign on the shelter explains the purpose of Oravisjärvi.
Cycling maps are available in the INFO box at the bike shelter of the Village House. Cycling routes will also be available digitally by early summer 2023.
